One night in July, Chris logged onto Bumble and imported the best photo of his dog, Otis. (For all the Baby Boomers in the room, Bumble is a dating app) Chris knew girls love dogs, so it was quite possibly the best move he could have ever made. The following evening, Katie logged onto Bumble and wrote the wittiest three sentences she could muster. She figured she had nothing to lose, so she set out to find a forever friend for her dog, Greta. Katie quickly hit it off with someone who was not Chris. Realizing it would be her first date in a while, she scrambled to set up a “practice” date. Enter Chris. He had a kind smile and a cute dog, so she figured she could manage an hour-long conversation with him in order to get rid of her dating jitters in preparation for her “real” date the following evening. Per usual, Chris was late. Katie sat patiently, texting her friend and saying she’d only give him “five more minutes, then I’ll meet you at the bar”. Fortunately for Chris, she was feeling generous with her time and waited an extra 15 minutes. Fortunately for Katie, he was worth the 15 minutes. Katie never went on the date with the other guy. Chris had won her over with his charm and a couple of margaritas, and she was SMITTEN!
