Following the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour with an on-site reception to follow. The reception will include brunch, dancing, open bar, and overall celebration of Lauren and Jerry's union. Please be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
While the wedding will contain traditional Jewish traditions, as Messianic Jews, Jerry and Lauren will also have their faith in Jesus as a high priority in the service as well.
While this wedding will not be full Kosher, we will not serve pork or shellfish at the wedding.
After prayer and discussion, it was clear to Jerry and Lauren that they are called to live in Michigan, where Jerry serves as a Rabbi at Congregation Shema Yisrael. Since Lauren will be relocating following their wedding, they decided that hosting the wedding in Chicago was a fair compromise. There will be celebrations hosted in Michigan for those that can't attend due to distance, however it is our hope that all who are able to travel will make it in person.
Unfortunately Lauren's Beagles will not be able to attend in person, however they will be there in spirit and the bridge and groom are finding some way to involve them as well as well as Shoshanna (Jerry's Bubbe and Aunt Cherie's dog).
