Believe it or not - Sarah & Jake met at a bar in Philly. They were both living in Philly at the time, and found themselves at Plough and the Stars in Old City with their respective friend groups. Sarah and Jake were the "wing men" of each of their friends and of course, ended up hitting it off the most! Jake impressed the girls with his orders of white tea shots for the group. That night, Jake gave Sarah a smooch but Sarah was doubtful of what the future held. When Sunday rolled around, and "Maybe: Jake" popped up on her phone, she was so nervous to read the text, she flipped her phone over and waited a few hours before responding. She eventually agreed to a first date at Helium Comedy Club and the rest is history!

Jake popped the question in one of their favorite places, Avalon, NJ. Sarah was under the ploy that she was getting dinner with her friends at one of her favorite restaurants, Shorebreak. When they were getting ready to leave, she noticed that Jake was wearing his fancier sneakers, but never noticed the ring box hidden in his pocket! She claims the sneakers were the best distraction. As they left the house, Jake asked Sarah if she wanted to walk on the beach before dinner to go see some dolphins. Naturally, Sarah said of course! When they got to the beach and turned the corner, Sarah noticed a beautiful blanket set-up and started crying instantly. She still jokes, thank goodness that blanket set up was meant for them. Jake then got down on one knee and popped the question! They celebrated with immediate friends in the moment and then did indeed going to dinner at Shorebreak with their immediate families to continue to the surprise & celebrations! It was a perfect evening.
