This charming garden is a favorite of ours. There's always something blooming! Please note that parking requires a reservation and you can reserve a spot with the above link. We have a membership to the garden for four people. First come first served, otherwise, there is a fee for entering the garden.
It's a great town for window shopping and restaurants. Be sure to visit The Diving Cat Studio Gallery!
This another great town for shopping and restaurants. On many warm weather weekends, Gay Street is blocked off for pedestrians only. The town is always having weekend festivals too. For the largest tasty slice of pizza EVER, visit Lorenzo & Sons Pizza!
We are members here to but the great news is that entry is free. Enjoy hilly trails that feature collections of azalea and rhododendron. There's also a pond where you'll see turtles sunning themselves.
If you LOVE cars, this is the place for you! Dr. Fred Simeone was surgeon in Philadelphia whose love for cars brings delight to all of us who drive or want to. It's located near the Philly airport. Be sure to check out the website for tips on visiting and consider your time, if you're flying in/out of town.
This was a favorite of mine when I lived in Bala Cynwyd, PA. It was just a few blocks away from home. Dr. Barnes' back story is fascinating, as is its move to Philadelphia. Both were sad. The collection is fabulous.
Both Gabe and I love this park, it's just a walking mile from home. Gabe hikes here often and I used to climb Mt. Misery, it will steal your breath! Be sure to visit the Washington Memorial Chapel, https://www.wmchapel.org. It's quaint and seasoned with the years. The stained windows are educational with depictions of those who camped at Valley Forge. There should be numerous events in celebration of our nation's 250 anniversary.
Perfect for the kids or those who like to fly! It's a short drive from the hotel.
If you want a taste of Philly food, this is a must on your list! Basically, this site has everything Philly food has to offer. This includes Sandwiches: cheese steaks, roast beef, roast pork, Amish made pretzels, cookies, baked goods, spices, chocolate, fresh produce and more. Be prepared for a crowd. The isles are jammed packed with people on the weekend. Just step in a queue, but make sure it's the one you want. Ask the "guys" in front of you, to be sure. Gabe and I highly recommend DiNic's for the roast beef and pork sandwiches. Be sure to add broccoli rabe and provolone for real Philly flavor.
