We love walking around City Park, visiting NOMA, the Botanical gardens, and so much more! A great place to spend the afternoon!
A great alternative to going out in the French Quarter with lots of opportunities to listen to live music
Another great option for live music!
A great spot to spend the evening catching up with friends! They have live music everyday - we love grabbing a bottle of wine from their unique collection in the shop, then spending the evening grazing on the delicious appetizers while chatting and listening to local musicians.
You can't go wrong spending a Thursday at Rock'N'Bowl's Zydeco night!
One of our favorite breakfast spots in town. Felix always orders the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, while Coleen changes it up each time. Be warned - there will likely be a line, but it's absolutely worth the wait.
Casual lunch go-to! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu (especially their seasonal options), but our tried and true orders include the Manchego salad, Gruyere sandwich, and Hook's cheddar sandwich. And don't forget to save room for their cheesecake!
We went here for our second date - Felix actually crashed girl's night (shoutout to our dear friend Elizabeth - love you!!), but I'm so grateful he did because we all ended up having the best time! We absolutely LOVE Blue Oak BBQ and frequently walked over for lunches and dinners when Coleen was living at the American Can apartments just down the block. Another place where you simply cannot go wrong with your order, but highly recommend their smoked chicken salad sandwich, the BBQ burger, brussels sprouts, Red Beans and Rice (gotta go on a Monday), and any of the BBQ plates!
Grab some po'boys and have a sunset picnic along Bayou St. John to re-create one of our favorite date nights! (Also great in the afternoon)
Our favorite pizza spot that reminds us of our trip to Italy! This is one of our most frequented date spots - no reservations, but we typically have no problems getting a table between 6-7 pm. Grab a spritz and split a couple of pies before heading to Frenchman street to catch some live music! Also, their house salad is a must order - we've been trying to recreate the homemade ranch dressing for years, it is to die for!
Hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the entire city. We're not kidding when we say we dream of their pita bread. There have even been occasions where we skip the entrees and just have hummus for dinner - it's that good. Trust us.
A New Orleans staple with several locations all around the city!
