If you love nature & enjoy being on foot, Yachats has many wonderful, easy trails to offer! Our favorite reason for recharging the soul in Yachats is you can spend a whole day on foot exploring the entire town. We love to start on Yachats Ocean Rd, just west of the Yachats Inn. During high tide, enjoy the epic sounds & sights of waves crashing against the coastline. During low tide, enjoy walking on the sand along the mouth of the Yachats River. Continue north & grab a coffee or tea at the Green Salmon. Walk east on 2nd St & enjoy the botanical incline of the Prospects Trail. Walk the elevated road for viewing landscape & architecture of local homes. Follow King St back to Hwy 101 & cut across to the Adobe to begin the 804 Trail (N). Cut east on Trout or Perch St to get back to 101 & walk south to enjoy the art galleries. From there, enjoy the Ya'Xiak Trail & Gardeman Botanic Preserve. Finish with a drink at the Sea Note, Yachats Brewery, or our favorite patio of the Drift Inn.
A favorite low intensity and accessible-to-all walking path along the gorgeous and unique coastline of Yachats. We highly recommend taking a leisurely walk during high tide to enjoy the soulful sounds and sights of the waves traveling through the channels and exploding into the air. It is the reason we chose Yachats to get married!!!
If you are an art lover like Coleen, enjoy the splendid display of mediums at these local galleries. Do not forget to check out the Gerdemann Botanic Preserve Public Footpath right behind these galleries. Up for a hike back to the heart of town? Begin the Ya’Xaik (yah’ khik) Trail located right behind as well.
This is a MUST of Craig and Coleen's! We always stay at the Drift Inn and our goal is to explore a new room each visit. With a unique history, this facility offers eclectic and artistic decor. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a fabulous meal on the back patio!
If you are traveling north past Florence, this is a wonderful pit stop to indulge in one of the many marvels of the Oregon Coast!
