It was the fall semester of 2021. Cole was in his first (and only) semester at Wichita State, and Sophie was in her second-to-last semester of undergrad. Both ended up in a Monday night History of the Vietnam War class, though neither knew of the other until mid-October. After our second-to-last exam in early November, we found ourselves chatting in the hallway outside the classroom. Cole schmoozed and piqued Sophie's interest, eventually asking for her number while walking her to her car after class - which genuinely shocked her. That moment led to a coffee date the following Friday afternoon at Fairmount Coffee Co. We chatted about life, DJ'ing, and our favorite movies. Cole was kind and sweet, while Sophie was a shaky mess the entire time. One thing led to another and we started dating. After graduation, Sophie followed Cole up to Lawrence, where we lived until he graduated. Lawrence fostered our love for Freddy's, brunch, and the adoption of our lovely Rat Cats, Rennala and Arthur. Over the years, we've grown stronger together as a couple, having weathered day-to-day life and traveled through Europe. Now, almost four years later, we're just months away from the dream wedding we've always hoped for!
