Skylar and Cole’s story began on a Friday morning in 2021 in Greenville, North Carolina—where Cole was working and Skylar was attending grad school. It all started when a mutual friend showed Skylar Cole’s Instagram, mentioned he’d be meeting them at a brewery that night, and casually declared that they should date. That evening, Cole found himself driving everyone around town while Skylar introduced him to All Too Well (10 Minute Version, of course)—a moment that they still laugh about today. It took Cole a full month to finally ask Skylar on a real date, but once he did, the rest was history. They quickly realized there was something special and spent the next year and a half growing their relationship in Greenville. Eventually, life led them into a season of long distance as Skylar headed to Asheville and Charlotte for fieldwork. The following year was filled with daily FaceTimes during drives home from work, weekends spent visiting one another, and plenty of tearful goodbyes. The distance finally came to an end in February of 2024 when Cole officially moved to Charlotte to be with Skylar and begin their life together. Together, Skylar, Cole, and Milo formed a wonderful life in Charlotte. Then, in March of 2025, Cole made it official—asking Skylar to be his wife in the most perfect proposal, followed by a surprise celebration with their loved ones.
