Things To Do

The Olympic Peninsula of Washington contains 4 distinct ecosystems, including the largest remaining old growth temperate rainforest in the United States. It is truly like nowhere else in the world, and we hope you get the chance to explore it while you’re here. These suggestions are listed from nearest to the venue to furthest away (roughly).

Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort

12076 Sol Duc-Hot Springs Road, Port Angeles, WA 98363

If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy natural springs, then you have to visit Sol Duc! It's a short drive from the venue and offers resort style man-made pools of various temperatures filled with naturally mineralized water. Go for a hike nearby and then indulge yourself with a soak!

Devil's Punchbowl

Port Angeles, WA 98363

This swimming hole is nestled along the northern shore of Lake Crescent and accessible via a 2.5 mile round trip hike that is flat and features an old train tunnel. The trailhead is about a 20 minute drive from the venue. Pack your swimsuits and ease yourself into the water along the rocky edge or jump from the footbridge or surrounding cliffs from as high as 40ft!

Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center

3002 Mount Angeles Road, Port Angeles, WA 98362

Accessible via car, Hurricane Ridge provides sweeping views of the entire Olympic Peninsula including the Pacific Ocean, the Olympic Mountain Range, and even Canada! Drive up to soak it all in or go for a short hike along the ridge.

Port Angeles

Port Angeles, WA

This small coastal town is the largest metropolitan area closest to our venue. There are art venues, a downtown for boutique shopping, fresh seafood, and waterfront walkways to explore.

Victoria

Victoria, BC, Canada

Are you turning your trip into a mini vacation or looking for a reason to extend your stay on the peninsula? If you have an extra day or two, we recommend taking the ferry from Port Angeles into Victoria, British Columbia! This waterfront town is charming, does not require a car, and is the perfect way to explore coastal Canada. Don’t forget your passport!

Ruby Beach

WA 98331

Cole and I went on one of our earlier dates here. We drove all the way out to the ocean just to take a sunset walk together and shoot some photos on film. It remains a special place to us, along with everything else the Olympic Peninsula has to offer!

Hoh Rain Forest

18113 Upper Hoh Road, Forks, WA 98331

This is one of Cole's favorite places on Earth. It's a bit of a longer drive from our venue, but you will be treated to a lush, green canopy with a walk along the river. This is one of the only remaining temperate rainforests in the United States!

Olympic Peninsula

WA 98331

The entire Olympic Peninsula has so much to offer. If you plane to spend a few extra days in Washington before or after the wedding, be sure to heck out all it has to offer!
