We recommend light linen shirts, shorts, pants, breathable dresses in order to stay cool. Flip flops will be provided for those wearing heels during the beach ceremony. White, cream, ivory, khaki, light shade colors recommended :)
We recommend flying into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, which is approximately 1 hour away from Beaufort, South Carolina. Another option is Charleston International Airport, which is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Beaufort.
Unfortunately Fripp Island Resorts does not allow access to Ubers or other transportation services like it.
Fripp Island Resort is a very busy place in the summer seasons, with most rentals requiring a week minimum stay beginning on Saturday's and Sunday's. This being the case, we have blocked three hotels in the off island town of Beaufort, South Carolina. The Best Western Sea Island Inn, The Anchorage 1770, and The Beaufort Inn are three newly renovated hotels that include complimentary breakfast, with a view of the bay! Most on island rentals require a minimum week stay. BUT- even though very limited, there are some rentals available with two-three night minimums. The island is three miles long and a half mile wide, so anywhere you stay will be very close to our reception spot. Yes! We have reserved a charter bus that will be picking guests up from Beaufort to the ceremony and reception spot, then will be dropping guests back off in Beaufort after the reception is over.
If you are staying in Beaufort you can easily Uber from the airport and back - since we are providing transportation to the ceremony/reception. If you would like to have more freedom such as visiting Fripp for some beach time and the local island/attractions that are out of walking distance, we recommending renting a car from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
All of our off island guests who have a car will have access to Fripp Island July 26th and 27th. This is for those interested in going to the beach!
