Our story began on July 4th, 2019 at a Flo Rida concert in Naperville, Illinois. Cole was home on leave from the Naval Academy and Morgan was visiting her college bestie from University of Iowa, Devin. Yes, Cole’s older sister! The moment we met on the night of that night, we were both drawn to each other instantly and you can say sparks flew. We stayed up all night laughing, flirting and learning about one another. In the morning, we went our separate ways, but both knew this would not be the last we saw of each other! (Boy were we right!) Cole headed back to Annapolis and Morgan back to Iowa City. Despite being 1000 miles apart, the relationship grew quickly. Morgan took her first visit to Annapolis in August of 2019. We were only able to spend 48 hours together, but it was enough time for both of us to realize that something special was forming. The next 2 years, while we were both in school, were filled with trying to see one another every chance we could. Quick weekend trips in each other's college towns watching water polo games, bonding over our love for food, laughing all night, and the best hellos followed by the hardest goodbyes. In May of 2021, we both graduated, and Cole commissioned into the United States Navy. Quickly thereafter, we moved into our first apartment in San Diego, California beginning a new adventure together. After 2 years in San Diego, we took a Memorial Day weekend trip to Temecula, one of our favorite getaway spots. On the afternoon of May 26th, 2023, Cole got down on one knee overlooking beautiful wine country! It was an amazing moment surrounded by our parents we will never forget, including Morgan famously shattering her glass (on brand). We have now spent four Independence Days together reminiscing on the night that our love story began, and how the sparks still fly. We are so excited for the beautiful life ahead together as husband and wife. We are counting down the days until we get to celebrate with all of you in September!
