When Cole and Melissa walked into the first day of their first jobs out of college, they had no idea that they'd be meeting their life partner. They had no idea that over the next year and a half that their friendship would grow stronger at happy hours, karaoke nights, Korean BBQ dinners and other outings with their colleagues. As their friendship grew stronger and stronger, they both realized the growing feelings they had towards each other were more than that of just friends. Shortly after this realization, they had their first date where they did an escape room together... and failed miserably - but the date was a success that kicked off their love story...

Over the course of the next four years, Cole and Melissa cherished each other's company in San Diego, exploring new places together. No matter what it was they did, be it a trip to the beach, chilling at a brewery, tailgating at a Wave soccer game, weekly trivia nights, or even just kicking back with some video games or reality TV, it was always best when they did it together. They became each other's favorite partner for walks around the neighborhood, morning coffee stops, and sunset watching. They're often gross'ed out by how much they've come to love each other but they wouldn't have it any other way ...

Cole proposed to Melissa on a trip they took together in the fall of 2024 to Ireland. The day started just as the previous days had, a hearty Irish breakfast and the company of one another. This day, they planned to visit the Cliffs of Moher, a scenic hike along the wild atlantic coast. The trail was muddy and seemed closed at first but they ignored the caution signs and trekked on. Along the way they stopped to enjoy a distant rainbow out over the crashing waves. At one point they came to a clearing right on the edge of the cliffs. There was no one else around, just the two of them, the cliffs and the sea. And then, it happened! Finally! She said "yes" and the two celebrated with a cozy meal and Irish Coffee.
