We’re getting married!

A few days before the proposal Cole told me that his family was going to have a party to celebrate the completion of their new in-ground swimming pool. The day before the “party,” Cole told me that we had to cancel the party because Cole’s sister Morgan couldn’t find anyone to watch the kids for her. Oblivious all the while. Cole then came to me and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner, just us two, instead. I gladly obliged!! We went to my favorite restaurant. Cole was acting extra sweet and I didn’t think anything of it because he is an extra special guy. After dinner, Cole took me to get ice cream. Cole was trying to stall for time, because he wanted it to be dark outside when he popped the question. Lucky for him, I had some allergies and asked if we could stop to get some allergy medicine. Just the perfect amount of time for the sun to go down! When we arrived at the house, we could see the pool lights through the back fence. He asked if I wanted to walk out back and see the pool lights. Oblivious me asked, “Shouldn’t we go inside and get our swimsuits first?” He proceeded to lead me to the back patio where he showed me the pool and how pretty it was with all the lights on. I had my back to Cole for less than a second. I turned around and all of these string lights popped on and there he was on one knee. My dream, right before my eyes. I couldn’t help but burst into tears. Cole’s brother in law walked out recording the whole thing, and his mom taking photos. Cole’s sister was hiding behind the pool for photos too! Cole proceeded to say the sweetest things, that every girl dreams of. Then he asked the magical question, “Will you marry me?” I SAID YES!!! After the YES, Cole looked at me and said “look up.” I looked up and saw my parents standing on the Schaff’s back deck, along with Cole’s dad. I am forever grateful that our families got to be there for this special moment. It was the best moment of our lives. A moment we will cherish forever.
