Things To Do

Welcome to the nation's capital! June in D.C. is perfect for exploring the city’s iconic landmarks. Enjoy outdoor activities like paddle-boarding on the Potomac or strolling through Georgetown.

Museums on the National Mall

Washington, DC

If you’re in the mood for a little history, the Smithsonian museums are world-renowned. Some of our favorites include the National Museum of Natural History, the National Air & Space Museum, and the National Museum of American History. Please note that while many museums are free, some may require a timed entry or ticket. We recommend checking the Smithsonian website ahead of time to be sure!

Georgetown

Washington, DC

One of Lauren & Cole's favorite spots, Georgetown is charming in the summer, perfect for wandering cobblestone streets and shopping. Our recommendation: For a light lunch, stop by Chaia (Grace St.) for vegetarian street tacos, then grab a sweet treat from Baked & Wired (Thomas Jefferson St.). Take everything to-go and enjoy it on the Waterfront steps, with views of the Potomac River and The Kennedy Center. Need another lunch recommendation? Other favorites include Yellow or Osteria Mozza. (Just make sure you're hungry enough for dinner & dancing!).

The Wharf

760 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

New to the city and south of the National Mall, The Wharf is a mile-long waterfront stretch along the Potomac River. Enjoy restaurants, local shops, and great views.

East Potomac Golf

972 Ohio Drive Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

East Potomac Golf Links offers two 9-hole courses (Par 27 & Par 36), one 18-hole course (Par 72), a fully stocked golf shop, three practice holes, a driving range, and more. Lauren's brother, Jack, recommends the Blue course.

Kayak, Canoe & Stand Up Paddleboarding

Experience the tranquility of floating on the water combined with breathtaking views of DC's monuments. Our recommended locations are Key Bridge (Georgetown), Tidal Basin (Jefferson Memorial), or The Wharf.

National Monuments

For those looking to get their steps in, take a stroll to our national monuments, including the Lincoln, Jefferson, World War II, Martin Luther King Jr., and Washington monuments. It’s a great way to take in the city and its history at your own pace, perfect for a laid-back afternoon before the celebrations.
