Celebration of Love, Life & Renewed Vows

After being introduced by a mutual friend at Rib Fest, Kaila and Cole began crossing paths at parties, slowly getting to know each other - and each other’s circles. Before long, they realized they had more in common than just really cool friends and late nights dancing at the local nightclub (RIP Embassy). They bonded over their love of outdoor adventures, learning new skills, and cozy nights watching nostalgic favourites like Labyrinth and Hocus Pocus - and the list kept growing. As their connection deepened, they discovered not only shared interests, but personalities that truly complemented one another. Each day together felt new, exciting, and full of possibility. After two years of friendship, Cole passed Kaila a note that read: “Will you be my girlfriend? If YES, smile. If NO, do acrobatics while reciting elements from the periodic table.” Flattered (and amused), Kaila smiled - and the rest is history. They quickly became inseparable, always encouraging each other to grow into the best versions of themselves. With their future in mind, they both enrolled in college while living together at Cole’s family home. Days were filled with laughter, and nights with studying. After graduating and starting their careers, they moved into their first apartment together. In 2019, six years into their relationship, Cole proposed during sunset on what seemed like a typical hike at Mount Nemo. Kaila, surprised and overjoyed, said an enthusiastic “YES!” On August 21, 2021, they made it official with a beautiful, intimate backyard wedding. Now, five years later, they are excited to celebrate their love with a renewed appreciation for each other and for life. The past five years haven’t been the blissful honeymoon chapter they once imagined. Along the way, Cole has both stepped more fully into their true self as well as being diagnosed with a terminal illness. While this has brought unimaginable challenges, their journey reflects the yin and yang of life - where even in difficulty, there is balance, beauty, and light to be found. After 13 years together, their love, strength, and gratitude have only deepened. They are thankful for the steady support of lifelong friends and new connections, and are excited to celebrate love, life, and everything in between with everyone who has been part of their story.
