We’re getting married!

We truly have Cole’s groomsman, Trey Kalina, to thank for this entire relationship and wedding! Trey - one of Cole’s childhood best friends - chose to attend UNC Wilmington and leave Texas after graduating high school. Hailey lived in North Carolina her entire life, and attended UNC Wilmington. Trey and Hailey met through mutual friends at UNC Wilmington, but moved back to Texas after graduating and lived with Cole at the end of 2020! Trey invited his girlfriend at the time to come visit at the beginning of January 2021, and she decided to bring Hailey with her. Fun fact: Cole and Hailey had been chatting daily for weeks prior to finally meeting in person! Hailey and her friend came to visit on January 9th, and Cole and Hailey completely hit it off! Hailey visited for 5 days, and at the end of the 5 days, Cole booked a flight to visit Hailey in North Carolina for two weeks later. They’ve been inseparable since. They did 1.5 years of long distance before Hailey moved to Texas, and they’ve been living happily in Texas since June 2022!

One of Cole's favorite places in the world is Seljalandsfoss - a massive waterfall in Iceland. They decided to take a 10 day trip to Iceland in October 2023 to complete the entire Ring Road! The Ring Road is a paved road that circles Iceland, and is considered Iceland's most important transportation infrastructure. They did tons of hiking and sight seeing over those 10 days, and of course they had to see Cole's favorite place in the world. Cole forced Hailey to wakeup at 6am to hike to the waterfall, and as they walked behind the waterfall, Cole asked if they could take a photo. Cole had a tripod and clicked 'record' instead of taking a timed photo. Cole proposed behind the waterfall and strategically timed the proposal so that minimal people would be there. They both cried, and Hailey didn't even get to hear what he said - she just kept saying yes! As they finished their hike, they saw a couple in a tux and wedding dress getting married underneath the waterfall. What a great omen!
