About the Mass
For anyone unfamiliar with a wedding within a Catholic Mass the full ceremony will last an hour and will include the following:
Entrance
Priest, lectors, and wedding party enter
Opening Prayer
Liturgy of the Word
First reading of Scripture, responsorial psalm, second reading of Scripture, Gospel acclamation, Gospel proclamation
Homily
The Priest’s reflection on the Scripture readings
The Celebration of Matrimony
Vows + blessing and giving of rings
Liturgy of the Eucharist
Presentation and preparation of the gifts, Eucharistic prayer, Sanctus, The Lord’s Prayer, Sign of Peace
Communion
If Catholic you are welcome to receive communion and if not please remain seated
