Cole was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. In elementary school he excelled at accumulating an amazing beanie baby collection and dressing as every major food group for halloween. During High School he excelled at swimming and cross country all while keeping his parents, Matt and Kristi, on their toes. After high school he ventured 50 miles up north to attend Michigan State University. Go Green! Here he earned degrees in both Advertising and Communication, all while never missing a party! Then he spread his wings and headed out west 2000 miles, landing in beautiful downtown Los Angeles, only four blocks from skid row! Just prior to the pandemic he joined a top tier tech company and has worked his way up the ranks. He is currently a recruiter in their Talent Acquisition Department. During his spare time he enjoys hanging out with a close knit group of friends, taking walks with their dog Alex, rollerblading, traveling, exploring the diverse neighborhoods in LA, dabbling in makeup and of course, sampling the finest bud lights! Enrique was born in Lima, Peru. At the ripe ol’ age of 2, he moved to the US with his mom, Haydee and sister, Samy to be with his father who was attending graduate school in New Mexico. As a toddler he began to learn English and he loved playing with his panda teddy bear, which he may still have to this day! At 4, they moved to Puebla, Mexico. During his time in Mexico he learned to play soccer, speak spanish and sneak into a local public health clinic. It was during these mischievous adventures he decided he would be a doctor one day. After a few years he moved yet again to a strange faraway land called New Jersey. In New Jersey, he attended elementary through High School and gained a younger sister, Diana and brother, Cesar. After high school Enrique decided to spread his own wings and head out west. He landed 80 miles away in Bethlehem, PA where he attended Lehigh University. After graduating with a degree in biology he went south to one of his favorite cities, New Orleans. He attended Tulane University School of Medicine and as class president presided over frequent meetings on Bourbon Street. After an internship and residency in New Mexico, he made his way out west, landing in sunny Los Angeles, California. Enrique is in private practice as a family physician. During his spare time he enjoys working out, going to movies, getting massages, meditating, traveling , fine dining, socializing with friends and of course, a good pinot noir!! Their love story begins in September of 2017. They met at church, or more accurately, a bar called the chapel in West Hollywood. They toasted over tequila shots, exchanged contact information but their busy lives got in the way. However, over the course of that year, Cole would occasionally see Enrique out at the bars in West Hollywood when out with his friends. Enrique was hard to miss, as he was always dressed to the nines in a suit! It never went past exchanging glances. Things changed when Cole moved to West Hollywood and they rekindled their romance via a gay dating app. They finally agreed to meet and went on their first official date on July 17th, 2018 at Cafe D’Etoile, a popular local restaurant at the time. From that point on they have been inseparable, traveling the world and experiencing life together. From Puerto Vallarta to London, New York City to Paris, Honolulu to New Orleans, Palm Springs to Vegas, or wherever they may be, their love has no bounds. They moved in together shortly after the beginning of the pandemic in July 2020. In December of 2021, Enrique surprised Cole on bended knee in their favorite city of New Orleans, on a street car in the garden district. He said yes!! A brass band played, champagne popped and a surprise celebration ensued with Cole’s parents and best friends!! We are so excited to continue the celebration with you, our close family and friends on May 20, 2023!
