Honeymoon in Greece

The Wedding Website of McKayla Collins and Cole Schmit
Before we share a little about our honeymoon, we wanted to start by saying thank you. Looking around on our wedding day and seeing so many people we love in one place was something we’ll never forget. It was incredible to be surrounded by family and friends who have poured so much love, support, wisdom, encouragement, and laughter into our lives throughout the years. Thank you for being witnesses to our love story. Thank you for your travel, your time, your gifts, your kind words, and most importantly, your presence. We know how much it takes to show up for a wedding, and we don’t take a single bit of it for granted. If we could relive our wedding day over and over again, we would. It was everything we hoped for and more, and we are so grateful to each and every one of you for helping make it so special. Make sure to look at our gallery page for more honeymoon pictures! Now onto the honeymoon…
Mykonos

Mykonos

Mykonos, Greece

Our adventure began with a 16-hour travel day that stopped in Germany and landed us straight in Mykonos. We were greeted with champagne and a room overlooking the bluest water we had ever seen. Determined to beat the jet lag, we quickly showered and headed into town. We spent our first evening walking around town, completely on cloud nine that we are finally husband and wife. On our way to dinner, we met our first Greek cat friend. Little did we know, this would become a recurring theme throughout the trip. Mykonos was filled with incredible food, beach days, wandering through whitewashed streets, and soaking in every moment together. Both of us would go back to Mykonos in a heartbeat. Watching the sun melt into the ocean at Scorpios while eating some of the best food of the trip, it absolutely lived up to the hype. Between beach clubs, dancing, sunset views, and strangers buying drinks for the newlyweds, Mykonos gave us the perfect start to married life and a slight sunburn.

Milos

Milos

Milos, Greece

If Mykonos was our party island, Milos was our adventure island. We stayed in the cutest fishing village, with an Airbnb sitting right on the water. Every evening we climbed a ladder to our rooftop perch for sunset, where we were greeted by cats we named Popeye, Creamsicle, and Fiona. What started as sharing scraps quickly turned into buying cat food. Cole became a professional ATV driver while I enjoyed the views. We explored Sarakiniko (Moon Beach), where the landscape looked like another planet. The food was unforgettable—Medusa lived up to the hype, and O! Hamos served some of the most authentic homemade food we've ever had. A boat tour around the island brought backflips, belly flops, and a wild ride home through rough seas. We later made our way down a ladder to Tsigrado Beach before ending another perfect day at sunset. Leaving Milos meant saying goodbye to Popeye, Creamsicle, Fiona, our abundance of daily mini pancakes.

Santorini

Santorini

Santorini, Greece

Santorini felt like a dream. We started in Imerovigli, slowing down, soaking in the views, watching incredible sunsets, and enjoying life as newlyweds. It also came with about 15 more cats. By then, we'd probably fed 50+ cats across Greece. A boat tour brought volcanic hot springs, hidden swimming spots, sunshine, and much calmer waters than Milos. Then came Cole's biggest surprise: a private suite built into the cliffs of Oia. Complete with an infinity pool overlooking all of Oia...it somehow exceeded every thought possible. We spent our days exploring town, eating incredible food, relaxing by the pool, and feeding every cat we met. We were greeted the next morning by a floating breakfast Cole planned. There was also Evil Mr. Whiskers. Definitley ask about him lol. On our final day, we met Chloe, a dog hiding in the shade. After buying her ham and water, she adopted us and followed us around Oia ALL afternoon. As our final Santorini sunset approached, we soaked in every last moment.

Athens

Athens

Athens, Greece

Our final stop was Athens. After a late-night arrival and a slightly questionable Uber ride, we made our way to another surprise planned by Cole. Our Airbnb overlooked the Acropolis incredibly. The next morning started with cinnamon rolls from Ugly Rolls, which absolutely lived up to the hype, followed by spicy gyros that we’re still thinking about. That evening we explored the Acropolis, stopping first to buy more cat food, of course. While we weren’t quite ready to leave the honeymoon bubble, we were excited to reunite with our favorite girl, Princess. We’re calling to thank everyone for celebrating with us; we’re just getting settled back from the honeymoon. If you gave us a check, we haven’t forgotten—just setting up our joint account. Thank you again for celebrating with us, we love you all so much. And thank you to Cole for everything. I love you SO much. Love, The Schmits
