WE'RE GETTING MARRIED

In the spring of 2019, Olivia was completing her clinicals in the Intensive Care Unit at Sanford, where Colby was employed. Immediately, Olivia had a crush on him. Little did she know, he noticed her too. After Olivia graduated from nursing school, she started her career in the same unit Colby was employed. As they were able to self-schedule, Olivia would find the days Colby had scheduled himself, so she could match their schedules (creepy, we know). After a challenging shift and using each other's help, Olivia sent him a message on Facebook to thank him. After a few months had passed and no other conversations had been made outside of work, she decided to add him on Snapchat. They conversed through Snapchat and soon after Colby asked her out on their first date. Colby decided to take Olivia to Dunton Locks; a small fish hatchery outside of Detroit Lakes. A date as such could have been assumed by anyone, knowing Colby. As one date led to another, it was not uncommon for them to find themselves out in nature and enjoying wildlife. It is something they grew to enjoy together. In fact, a few months later they planned their first trip to Alaska. Although things were looking official at this point, they stamped the date of September 2, 2020 when Colby asked Olivia to be his girlfriend at the base of Mount Denali.

Almost two years later, Colby and Olivia went on a camping trip to the Grand Tetons. The first morning they embarked on a 16 mile hike to Lake Solitude. Although, with a few wrong turns they added a couple miles to the experience. The lake lives up to its name. It is a small glacial lake nestled in the backcountry of the Tetons. Upon their arrival, they propped a phone against their boot so they could do video recordings of themselves on a rock that surfaced the lake. They planned to screenshot photos out of the video in different poses as no one was available to take their photo. After the phone started recording, Olivia hopped on the rock so they could capture photos together. To her surprise, he knelt down on one knee. Because Colby has teased in the past, she thought he was joking until seeing the ring. Olivia said, yes! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Cabo!
