Like all great love stories, we don't quite remember... However, the months of building friendship and early days of our relationship will always be incredibly special to us. Back in early 2017, Natalia had just transferred from a college that wasn't the right fit, and was worried that one semester had been a waste. However, quite the opposite proved to be true, as one of the few friends she'd made there (bridesmaid Molly Poozhikala) reached out and invited Natalia to try her family's church. It was a step outside of Natalia's comfort zone, but there she discovered some of her closest friends and a certain Colby. Throughout the summer, our relationship grew from simply being distant individuals in the same friend group, to genuine friendship, and eventually a mutual crush. Before he got the chance to officially ask her out, Natalia jinxed Colby and told him he owed her coffee. With an unspoken understanding that this was a date, we met up on September 22nd, 2017. Coffee turned into a mall trip, bowling (where we officially labeled it a date), and even walking around Target then talking in the car for hours just to keep things going. It was definitely September 23rd by the time we begrudgingly went home. This set the standard for the rest of our relationship, with every spare moment being spent together right off the bat, and marriage being talked about within a matter of weeks. Being just 19 at the time, things of course didn't play out that simply, but we've had an incredible 8 years to grow together and reach a place where this felt feasible, and we're so very excited to celebrate our long awaited marriage with everyone!
