Lyndsey is writing... so in case you're not aware... she writes novels when telling stories so BUCKLE UP! We met online & after several weeks of talking we decided to meet up. We set up a brunch date to see if we still liked each other... However, a few days before their planned date he drove all the way to my area last min. on a week night & we met up "briefly" for ice cream because he just couldn't wait to meet me. The night was getting late & as we were walking back to our cars from the famous Lincoln Square Horse Fountain... I looked up & noticed a full moon. I (with my random/odd humor) told him, "Well I know you need to get home before midnight or you'll turn into a werewolf"... thankfully Colby had quickly caught onto my humor and in return said "you too Cinderella, before you turn into a pumpkin". (this is important later) Little did I know that our original planned brunch date was Colby's actual birthday!!! (I still can't believe that.) After brunch we went to PuttPutt. Rumor has it that Colby won. I saw a Snowcone truck & told him I was at least going to buy him a snow cone for his birthday & he didn't have a choice. Funny thing was the guy behind us kept trying to buy my snow cone & very few times is she ever speechless... after he finally realized what was going on by the looks I was giving him from the awkwardness (some strange guy bought both of ours). As we were finishing up snow cones Colby told me I had to go to his truck before my car when we left. In all honesty, I was terrified & dragged on the conversation longer hoping he'd forget... As we were leaving he brought something from his truck & handed me a plastic dress-up "glass slipper" with peanut M&M's & a note. I was in a rush to head to a girls night dinner date & was terrified to read it... finally after an hr or so I finally read it & it had the cutest question... "will you go out with me again with boxes to check Yes or No" Spoiler: I checked Yes :) Well and now you know the rest!
We were headed to to OKC for the weekend to hang out with Jennifer, Austin, and Anna Rose. As well as celebrate Valentines together. Well the weather kept changing plans the closer the weekend got and we weren't sure if we were going to make it. (Spoiler alert: WE DID!) If you know Me (Lyndsey) and my "detective skills" they were on HIGH ALERT and bugging all my friends to try to get them to spill anything. (I do NOT do surprises well). Well Saturday afternoon came and we were going to "meet up with Colby's friend at the Botanical gardens in OKC." They were no where to be seen and I was already suspicious kept asking "sooo where is this friend of yours and since when to guys meet up at the botanical gardens?" Also, its important to have the (full experience) you have to imagine Colby speed walking and just ignoring all the plants and looking around everywhere. At one point I made Colby stop and look at the plants and read about a few of them. However, we were also dressed at this time for below freezing temps.... IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT & HUMID in there so we just eventually wanted to get out of there. Made it to the end of the bridge and there was a fan. While cooling off, I noticed this girl and thought she was out of place. (It took all I had to not strike up a conversation with her knowing something was up and that talking to random strangers drives Colby crazy) so I just walked past her. Eventually, we were on this landing/stopping point and Colby made me stop, and handed me and empty bag (apparently I opened it too fast) but then Colby knelt down and popped the question. Fast forward some --the photographer came out and turns out the suspicious girl was the photographer's wife. This still cracks me up! Then we went back to The Reynold's house and celebrated with dinner and decorations.
