Question

Can I bring my dog(s)?

Answer

Alta is located in a National Forest and within the Salt Lake City watershed area, dogs are NOT allowed in the canyon. As much as we love them all, please leave your fur babies at home.

Question

What’s the elevation at Alta?

Answer

8,500 ft. With that in mind, drink responsibly.

Question

Should I bring my bike?

Answer

YES!

Question

Where can we cool off/go swimming?

Answer

The Rustler Swimming pool is ours for Friday-Sunday morning. There are lakes to hike to, but swimming is prohibited up at Alta due to the water shed.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Be prepared for all weather. Salt Lake is usually 80-100 in summer where as Alta can be 70-90s and cooler in the evenings. Be prepared for cooler nights and possibly a short rain shower.

Question

Staying at Rustler Lodge

Answer

The lodge is reserved for Friday and Saturday night. If you plan to stay in the area Sunday night, please make other arrangements as the lodge is closed during the summer except for planned weddings. Because we’ve reserved the lodge, this is our preferred location for guests to stay.

Question

Where can we get food?

Answer

Friday night we will have a welcome party with food. Saturday morning there will be breakfast at the hotel. For lunch, you can put in an order for a bagged lunch through the hotel and you can inquire once you check in. We will have apps and dinner Saturday night for wedding. Sunday morning we have breakfast. If you want additional food, I recommend getting some snacks before heading up the canyon. There are some food options at the Cliff lodge and snowbird.
