Our Story

How We Met

Hi! Bridget here, to tell you the story of how I came to know and love the one and only Colby Kraus. Like true Millenials, the first time we ever saw each other was online (so cliche, I know.) Colby was mutual friends with my maid of honor, Bailey, who I went to occupational therapy school with. We were on a girls' trip to visit (bridesmaid) Bre in Seattle. As the only two single girls on the trip, we thought it would be funny to swap phones and download dating apps as each other. That's when Bailey exclaimed, "Hey! I know this guy," as Colby's profile came across- you guessed it- Tinder, and she *swiped right.* After a few harmless messages back and forth (some Bailey, some me) we returned to Missouri and I deleted the app. About two months later I got a text from, you guessed it- Colby. He wanted to make sure I had his number. I assured him I did not because the text actually came from his email address (he still contests this fact today.) One Friday night, Colby asked what I was up to. It was Bre's birthday so my friends and I had decided to go to our favorite dance club in downtown Columbia, Roxy's. As fate would have it, Colby was celebrating his birthday with his friends that same night. At the same club. We arrive and I could see Colby and his friends scanning the crowd. I panic. I avoid him for a good hour or two, too nervous to actually go and talk to him. Eventually, I can't put it off anymore and we meet. We talk, we laugh, and it was so effortless. It's safe to say I was smitten. A few weeks later we went on our first official date to Flyover (best pretzel bites in the state.) Needless to say, since then we have come a long way. We have moved three times together, are raising three fur kids, and now tying the knot! We've already grown so much together, but this is just the beginning, and I can't wait for what is to come. We thank you for the love and support that has gotten us this far and can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you!
