Colby and I met at the place where dreams come true (Chick Fil A) with mutual friends. While my little brother schemed to set us up behind the scenes, Colby and I enjoyed hanging out after church and at said Chick Fil A on Thursdays. In October, we went on our first date to a corn maze and carved pumpkins together. I was pretty much in love right away and amazed by Colby's love for Jesus, passion to know and obey Scripture, and lay down his life for others. Since Colby is leaving to join the Navy this summer, we wanted to seek clarity about whether the Lord was leading us to marriage before he left. This ushered in a sweet time of getting to know one another intentionally, learning about each other's convictions and hearts for Christ, and seeking counsel from those around us. By the time Colby proposed in February, we both felt strongly that the Lord was leading us to glorify Him through marriage. By sacrificing Himself on the cross, Jesus has saved both of us from our lives of sin against God. With this new life, we are now set free to live for God and truly love one another, and we pray that our marriage will be a tiny taste of the great, unselfish love Jesus has for His people, the church! Also, shoutout to my little brother for his matchmaking skills.
