I was invited to spend a few days with my cousin, Aaron at his house in Savannah. He told me about his neighbor, a nurse who I might have some chemistry with and that it might be worth looking into. Well, chemistry was very nonexistent with this individual. If this had been a graded event let’s just say “Ranger, you are a no go at this time. Report to the end of the line for retraining.” So, I found myself on a dating app called Bumble swiping away when I came across Elizabeth’s profile., her biography read: ‘Pros of dating me you will never be hungry, cons, I might make you fat.’ So I laughed a little and read on to her other sub prompts and found out she was a Christian, and a motivated driven young woman. So I cheesed out., swiped right and showed my cousin when about an hour later we matched! We kicked off the conversation right away with small talk but much deeper than the traditional how is the weather talk. We asked each other what our biggest accomplishments were, what our goals in life are and much more. It was at that point I was smitten, I knew that I had to take this woman on a date while I was in Savannah, so I asked her and at first she gave the ‘what about next week.’ But, that simply wouldn’t do. I explained why I was in Savannah and how limited my time really was so she agreed to meet me the next day for coffee, I laid out for her the entire day telling her that if things go good at coffee we will go to the beach, if things are still going good we will go look at christmas decorations downtown, and we will see where the night takes us from there.

Well, things went amazing and our breakfast date turned into about a thirteen hour date. I felt in my heart that I was exactly where I was meant to be, a feeling of bliss and excitement overtaking me, and I asked Elizabeth to be my girlfriend. Yes, on the first date. She said she needed twenty four hours, why you ask? Because unbeknownst to me, she was going to use that twenty four hours to tell another guy who she had gone on a date or two with that she was no longer able to see him. Fast forward twenty four hours and some change and she said: “I think you should ask me to be your girlfriend again.” And now here we are living our happily ever after for real.
