Awesome place for food right on Lake Charlevoix with island vibes. Boats, rum runners and lobster rolls!
Stafford's Weathervane Restaurant
Nice place to eat overlooking Round Lake. Get the whitefish, the local fish.
The Whi-Ski Inn
Classic BBQ joint with live music. Nick could eat here every day for the rest of his life.
Mackinac Island
If you're staying a few extra days, Mackinac Island is one of our favorite places. The only transportation allowed on the island are bikes and horses. You'll take a ferry out of Mackinac City or St. Ignace. Go for the day or spend the night.
Explore Petoskey
A short 20 minute drive from Charlevoix along the Lake Michigan coast. Petoskey is filled with breweries, great restaurants and cute shops. Definitely worth checking out if you're in town. Our favorite places to eat are Palette Bistro (great views), Pour or Noggin Room. There are a few wineries in the area that are super fun too. Our faves: Boyne Valley Winery, Mackinaw Trails, Petoskey Farms Winery
Mt. McSauba Recreation Area
Great place for a beach day. We call it the Michigan Riviera because of the beautiful blue waters.
Avalanche Trail
Beautiful hike in Boyne City that ends with a great view of Lake Charlevoix
