Things To Do

Enjoy Walloon in June with us!

Petoskey State Park

2475 Michigan 119, Petoskey, MI 49770

Petoskey State Park, nestled on the shores of Little Traverse Bay, offers a mile of sandy shores along Lake Michigan, two campgrounds and a network of hiking trails. Located just 3 miles northeast of Petoskey and 6 miles south of Harbor Springs, the park is a popular destination for beachgoers and those searching for the famous Petoskey stones. We highly reccomend checking it out!

Walloon Lake Winery

3149 Intertown Road, Petoskey, MI 49770

We came here after we toured our venue for the first time! We kept hearing great things about it around town, so we decided to check it out. The winery was beautiful, and the wine was top notch. This area in MI has no shortage of wineries in town, and we recommend checking some of them out!

Walloon Lake & Lake Michigan Water Activities

Walloon Lake, MI

When picking a venue for our wedding, being on & near water was a top priority. Lucky for us, our wedding weekend is nestled right by Lake Michigan, and Lake Walloon. These are two absolutely breathtaking lakes. There are many places to enjoy a beach day, rent boats, kayaks, canoes, you name it! It is summer after all, get out on the water while you can!

Shop & Dine in Downtown Petoskey

Petoskey MI

When we visited Petoskey in September of 2025, we made it a point to check out downtown Petoskey. Shopping, dining, breweries, coffee shops, site seeing is a must in this town! It is so charming & everyone we met was so welcoming!

Golf in the Petoskey Area

Petoskey MI

Swing into the Petoskey Area, where there are 17 awesome golf courses. Courses range from BOYNE Golf’s eleven world-class courses (Bay Harbor Golf Club is rated 8th in the U.S. by Golf magazine, and The Heather was named 2019 National Golf Course of the Year by the NGCOA) to a slice of heaven at Hidden River Golf Club, to economical and municipal courses.

Following in Hemingway’s Northern Michigan Footsteps

Most have at least heard of Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway, but some may be surprised that he and his family spent their summers at their cottage Windemere on Walloon Lake. There are many stores dedicated to him, restaurants statues, and tributes in local museums about him! Check out some of the local history!
