On February 1st, 2023 we sat down for a first date in a crowded, upbeat Gramercy bar. One of those first dates that you’re excited about, but try to level expectations because of the constant reminder of how vast this planet is and how quickly things move growing up, working, and living in New York City. However, within a few minutes things began to slow down, a rarity on a first date. It was comforting. We felt honest connection and shared stories uncovering how much we had in common. But before we realized, several hours had passed and it was time to go our separate ways. Honestly I felt I blew it initially, as we were so wrapped up talking about life we never even ordered food. How could I not feed this gorgeous woman on a first date?! Thankfully, Jenny gave me a second chance, and this time dinner was promised. Words of affirmation are definitely not her love language, so it took some convincing, but Jenny finally let her guard down. I’m thankful and a better person that she was able to be vulnerable in our early stages so we could truly see if this was for real. We often talk about our first date, having noticed we were clearly at a “date spot’ with only 2 person high tops. We wonder if any of those couples ended up like us: First date meeting “their person”, traveling the world, settling into an amazing apartment/neighborhood, and now holding the immense excitement of beginning their forever together. Well I hit the jackpot that evening. All because a tall, beautiful woman with a stunning smile answered a Hinge message. As we prepare to get married, we hope that you all are able to join us for the most important and memorable day of our lives (so far)!
