The first time we met was a very brief interaction at an event in April of 2014. Amy was riding on a jazzy after recent knee surgery and “bumped” into Brad, but life happens and it was meant to just be a hi / bye interaction. Fast forward 3 years and we reconnected by modern day daters way of doing it.. online. After some witty conversation and Brad promising to do the “Bend and Snap”, we went to Full Pint Brewery for a good IPA to start off their first date on September 15, 2017. A 7 hour date and some Nicky Thai’s Kitchen for some sustenance along the way and we both new a second date would not to long after. The night of our second date, 5 years prior will now be our Wedding Anniversary.
We headed back to Wilkes - Barre to spend the 4th of July weekend with family and friends. Brad and I, went directly to my Aunt and Uncles summer cottage on Harvey’s Lake to enjoy some family time and relaxation. After arriving and enjoying Grotto Pizza everyone was going to walk down to the dock to enjoy the sunset, but Amy was blissfully unaware that Brad was going to propose at that time. Amy decided that everyone was taking to long and being on the dock at sunset was her happy place and she decided to head down alone. Brad came down to sit on the dock, while the rest of her family stood and watched on the porch or hid in the bushes to get a glimpse of the proposal. As we sat on the dock, Brad was worried that the ring would slip through the slits on the dock, but the amazing ring was able to make it on my ringer. He knew that being on the dock at sunset, just the two of us was the best way to propose.
