FAQs

Question

What should I expect from a Quaker ceremony?

Answer

The best part of a Quaker wedding is guest participation! After we say our vows, we will begin silent worship. After a few quiet moments of reflection, a designated guest will speak first. After that, guests may interrupt silent worship to share stories, memories, poems, prayers, advice, and well-wishes. If you choose to share, there is no time limit. Some may only have a word or two, while others may have a full story to tell. Regardless of whether you have been asked to participate, all guests are encouraged to speak if they feel led. Feel free to prepare a brief message to share, or just wing it. Either way, we would be overjoyed!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire: We suggest wearing a suit, dress shirt with a tie, midi/ long dress, or dressy separates. The ground may be soft, so plan footwear accordingly.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be parking at both. We will also have a shuttle available from the Holiday Inn. Please let us know if you plan to use the shuttle when you RSVP.
