In late 2019, Melissa got an email from a dating app she had used in the past saying she could rejoin for free. Not looking for a relationship at the time, she deleted the email. After reappearing in her inbox over and over, Melissa took it as a sign and went for it. After matching with Josh, they agreed to a date at Thirsty Moose in downtown Manchester that ended up being 4 hours long! Over the last five years, Melissa and Josh have moved in together, welcomed a cat named Marty, and have enjoyed fun adventures . They are both excited for this new chapter in their lives!

It was a beautiful autumn weekend when Josh asked Melissa if she wanted to hike Mount Monadnock. She was a little surprised when Josh suggested it since they had never hiked a mountain that big before. Realizing that it would most likely be the last warm weekend until spring, Melissa canceled her morning plans and agreed to the hike. As they were getting closer to the summit, Josh’s legs began cramping up. Melissa suggested they head back, but Josh refused and said they’d already come far enough. After finally reaching the summit, Josh directed Melissa over to a secluded spot where they could enjoy the views and the sun preparing for sunset (and relax after a nearly three hour trek!) When the winds began picking up, Melissa wanted her sweatshirt so she reached into Josh’s backpack when all of a sudden he became very guarded of it (strange, she thought!) After enjoying the beautiful views and realizing it would be dark soon, Melissa decided it was time to begin heading back to the car. When she got up, Josh stopped her as he was digging into his backpack. Before she knew it, Josh was down on his knee with a stunning engagement ring asking her to marry him! Melissa joyfully said “Yes”!
