It all started in September of 2020 in the halls of Drake, a small dorm at UWL in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We met as Resident Assistants (RAs) in the same building, and although we each had interest in each other, it took more than a gently nudge from our friend and fellow RA Taylor to bring us together. What began as coworkers and acquaintances quickly turned into something deeper — and before we knew it, we were navigating college life not just as co-workers, but as partners. After graduating, we made the leap to Milwaukee to pursue our next chapter of higher education as Tyler pursued his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at UWM. Cody worked at several local hospitals and quickly found her calling as a Registered Nurse, completing her master's program at Alverno College. We have both graduated from our respective programs and now work with Aurora Healthcare; Cody works at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee in the emergency department, and Tyler works at both an outpatient PT clinic in Grafton WI and with the Inpatient Rehab teak at St. Lukes Hospital too! The transition to a new city and new careers has brought challenges, growth, and plenty of new memories — but through it all, we had each other. This past summer, we took another big step and brought home our first dog Bruno — a fluffy little bernedoodle who’s only added to the joy, chaos, and lots of love in our lives. In August of this year, Tyler surprised Cody with the sweetest, most memorable moment of our journey so far: a proposal at Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve, surrounded by nature and overlooking the "ocean" of Lake Michigan! Tyler even managed to surprise Cody, a feat that he is still quite proud of! Now, we're so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our journey with the people who mean the most to us.
