Our Story

How we met

Cody and I attended the same high school, however it wasn't until my junior year before we ever spoke to each other. We were introduced through our mutual friends who were dating at the time, which lead to the beginning of our friendship. My senior year in high school he would pick me up at lunchtime in his teal Honda Accord and we would have lunch together. He thought if he would drive all fast and cool-like on the way to lunch that it would impress me, little did he know he didn't have to try that hard. But it was cute to watch so I never said anything. He always made his friends sit in the backseat when he picked me up and would always open my door for me *ahem*, what a sweetheart I thought. From that point forward, he became my very best friend which lead to the beginning of our relationship. Now here we are, getting married..... again!

How he proposed

I always showed him videos of these elaborate proposals that I would come across on social media and gushed over how adorable they were. I still remember the day almost perfectly. Cody knew that if he did anything like those videos, I would instantly know something was going to happen. He made sure I had no idea what he had planned. His family didn't even know until 10 minutes prior to him proposing that he was going to do anything. Honestly, I'm surprised his mom didn't spill the beans in the brief minutes before. It was 4 days before Christmas. We were at his moms house celebrating Christmas with family before we headed to Pennsylvania to celebrate with his dad and more family. We all exchanged gifts and laughed at our dog Milo "helping" everyone open their gifts. I was so oblivious to everyones placement in the room. Cody had always kept Milo's treats in the front pocket of his hoodie. I remember telling Milo that he needed to sit down and relax or else his dad wasn't going to give him a treat. Little did I know... his dad wasn't giving him a treat anyways.. he pulled out a wooden ring box he made himself and looked at Milo and I and said "Milo what do you think your mommy would say if I asked her to marry me?" To say that I was surprised was the biggest understatement of the century. I couldn't believe I was finally going to be marrying my best friend.
