FAQs

Please feel free to reach out to either of us with any questions not answered here
Question

Where will the wedding ceremony and reception be?

Answer

We will be getting married and celebrating at Cavo Ventus Villa. The villa is located in the village of Akrotiri which is on the southern end of the island.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Popular villages include Oia, Imerovigli and Firostefani in northwest Santorini. Oia will be the busiest part of the island in terms of tourism and crowds. The island is small so staying in a nearby village such as Imerovigli will be less busy (and less expensive) but still a quick cab to Oia. The village of Akrotiri is in the southern part of the island which is about a 30 minute drive from Oia. Akrotiri is more private and quiet.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional

Question

Who will be invited to the events leading up to and after the wedding?

Answer

Everyone! Please let us know as soon as you know if you will be joining us for other events so we can share details and update our headcount.

Question

Does Greece have COVID-19 restrictions for entry?

Answer

As of May 2022, entry requirements were relaxed. No proof of vaccination or proof of negative test is required

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Our venue describes itself as "not child friendly given it's cliffside location". We would love to celebrate with everyone, young and old, but prefer to keep the wedding childfree. We want a fully stress-free event for our guests who have little ones. While children are not encouraged, the venue does allow them if they are closely watched by their parents. Please reach out to us personally with any further questions.

Question

Will there be a hotel block?

Answer

The island has so many wonderful options for accommodations including hotels, hostels, villas and Airbnbs. We will not be coordinating a hotel block to allow total freedom in trip planning.

Question

What weather should we dress for?

Answer

In late September, the average daytime temperature will range from the mid to upper 70s with the average evening temperature in the mid to upper 60s. An average late September day will be sunny and possibly windy. The sun will set around 7 PM on our wedding day. We recommend a light shawl for the evening as the venue is outdoors.

Question

Is the venue indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The venue is fully outdoors. We will be getting married on the cliffside in front of the Aegean sea which is where the sun will set later in the evening. We do suggest bringing sunglasses for the ceremony. The dinner and dancing will also be outside. The middle terrace has a covered bar and seating area but is not fully enclosed.

Question

How do we get to the venue?

Answer

We will be arranging a bus for transportation once everyone has their accommodations finalized. We will have 2-3 pick up points starting in Oia and heading south based on where most of our guests are staying. Please send me your hotel or airbnb once you have booked so I can coordinate. I will update the website with bus pick up locations once I have them. If you have rented a car for the trip, there is parking available at the venue as well.

Question

Where will the couple be staying?

Answer

Imerovigli

Question

What is the best way to get around the island?

Answer

Our wedding planner strongly recommends renting a car. Cabs are limited on the island (apparently only 25) but it is possible to get around if your hotel or Airbnb host helps arrange them ahead of time. ATVs are another very popular mode of transportation for getting around the island.
