I was interviewing for my current job and was taken around the clinic to meet the staff. I remember locking eyes with Cody and thinking he was pretty cute but we were both seeing other people at the time. We became friends and would spend as much time together at work as we could. After a few months it worked out that we both weren't seeing anyone and he (FINALLY) asked me out. When we started dating it felt different than any other relationship either of us had had. It felt like home. People say when you meet The One you just know. It's something you can't explain you just know. We both had that feeling and now we are getting married!
The spring weather was beginning to warm up so we planned a trip to Central Park. We were looking forward to a lovely Saturday enjoying the flowers in bloom. The morning of it started POURING. I told him we should save Central Park for another day but he was adamant about going so he came to pick me up and we hoped the rain would stop. By the time we got into the city it began to clear up and he mentioned he got us tickets to go to the top of Rockefeller Center. I didn't think anything of it because he always surprises me with things we're doing. When we got to the Top of the Rock I noticed he was acting weird. He seemed really nervous. I had my back turned to him and was taking in the sights. Before I knew what happened I turned around and saw him down on one knee! He asked me to marry him and I don't even remember him putting the ring on my finger. I was so shocked that he was down on his knee and just so overcome with emotion. Thank goodness he hired a photographer to capture everything! After we took some pictures at Rockefeller Center we went to Central Park and took our engagement pictures. It was the absolute perfect day!
