We're celebrating our marriage!

Cody and Nikki met through an christian dating app by random chance. Both of them had no intentions of finding a serious relationship let alone a future spouse when joining the dating app. Apparently the Good Lord had other plans for them! Cody and Nikki matched on the dating app and began texting everyday and getting to know eachother better. Eventually, they facetimed for the first time (Nikki wanted to make sure Cody's voice matched his personality haha) and the call lasted over 2 hours. From there, Nikki and Cody continued to text, facetime, and finally meet in person! Cody met all of Nikki's graduate school friends (which they all approved of Cody haha). Before Cody and Nikki started dating seriously, Cody dropped the news that he had recieved orders to be stationed in Hawai'i. Despite the long distance, both Nikki and Cody decided to give it a chance and see if it could work! Shortly after that conversation, they had their first real date at Stone Brewery in Escondido and then went to watch Top Gun at a rooftop movie theater in San Diego! From that point on, Cody and Nikki were inseparable whether it be through constant texting or Cody driving from San Diego to San Marcos to spend time with her! Eventually, it was time for Cody to move and despite how hard it was they both made a choice and effort to make the relationship work. Nikki came and visited Cody in Hawai'i. Cody came to San Diego for Nikki's pinning ceremony for graduate school. Along with facetime dates in between the periods of not seeing eachother in person. After Nikki finished her first clinicals in Murrieta, Cody and Nikki were planning to go to Texas, so Nikki could meet Cody's family. After lots of talking, Cody and Nikki decided to get married on that trip and planned a wedding in 3 weeks (how Nikki & her mom did that was a miracle haha). On April 20th, 2024 , Nikki and Cody had a small intimate wedding with some of their family. After their trip, Cody went back to Hawai'i and Nikki went back to San Diego for her last clinical rotation. And so the long distance marriage began. Once Nikki finished her clinicals in August, she packed her apartment up and moved to Hawai'i! Cody and Nikki currently are enjoying life in Hawai'i with their furbaby, Webster. Although they miss their families, they are enjoying being togther and navigating being married! They look foward to celebrating their marriage with ALL the friends and family in August!
