How we met

San Diego, February 2007

Cody and Michelle go further back than just the years they have been a couple. Long ago, in 2007 they met in San Diego working as part-time Tellers at Wells Fargo. Michelle was 18 years old and Cody just turned 21. Both were independent and worked hard to survive the student struggle while trying to balance party-life and work. Their friendship grew, and soon became "a little flirty fling, but nothing serious, just friends (with benefits)" you could say. With all the happy hours, group dinners, house parties, downtown nights, and after work hangouts, they grew to be good friends for the next 10 years. In 2008, Cody moved up to the Bay Area to attend SFSU while Michelle stayed in sunny San Diego. Fast forward to 2016, Michelle finally moved back home to San Francisco for her job relocation, and this is when they reconnected. Dolores Park, Treasure Island Music Festival, and Outside Lands were only the beginning of this now more grown up, mature, and quality friendship-turned-relationship.

The Proposal

San Francisco, December 2018

Christmas is our favorite time of the year. The weather is crisp, the lights are golden, the decorations are hanging, spirits are high, and more importantly the kisses are sweet. That year Cody promised to take Michelle ice skating at the Embarcadero for one of their regular date nights. "We started with a casual lunch and drinks at some hole-in-the-wall dive bar. As the sun was getting ready to start it's descent, we started walking towards “Cupid's Arrow". The sunset lighting was perfect for a selfie and Michelle obviously could NOT resist. After snagging a few good ones, all of a sudden Cody was down on one knee... the answer was not just YES, but YES YES YES YES YES! The energy, the timing, the love, the vibrations in the air. God placed everything in perfect position. There was no ice skating that day - but this definitely made up for it.
