Cody and Mary Ann met through mutual friend, Miranda Dry. Miranda and Mary Ann were close friends and went to Springfield College together till Sophomore year, 2015, when Miranda decided to change paths and join the Navy. It was in the Navy that Miranda met Cody and became close friends, and after 2 years of friendships, Miranda messaged Mary Ann in 2017 that she had a friend that would be interested in meeting her. Mary Ann jumped to the opportunity of talking to a man like Cody, but no one believed it would turn into much. Cody and Mary Ann talked through Snapchat, messaged each other daily, video called, and spoke on the phone till they fell asleep, all while they were miles and miles apart. After 6 months of talking long distance, Miranda and Cody were finally ready to graduate Power School. Miranda reached out to Mary Ann and invited her to the graduation to help her move from Charleston, South Carolina to her new station in Saratoga Springs, New York. Mary Ann was eager to support her friend while also using this opportunity to meet Cody in person for the first time. Cody was also excited meet Mary Ann in person and eager to see where the relationship would go. Finally, Mary Ann and Cody got to meet in person and decided they never wanted to be without the other. They continued the relationship for 2.5 years with Mary Ann driving 2 hours every week to and from school to spend weekends with Cody. Without Mary Ann knowing, Cody had volunteered to be stationed as an instructor in Saratoga Springs, NY, being it was the closest station he could get to Springfield College while Mary Ann continued on to her Masters Program. Mary Ann graduated her masters program and they finally got to move in together full time in Portsmouth, NH. And the rest is history ;)
