Like many modern love stories, ours began over a group text. We were in the same class in physical therapy school, but thanks to COVID, our first year was entirely online. Wanting to actually meet people in person, Kirby sent a message to our class group chat, inviting anyone who was interested to grab dinner and hang out afterward. That night, a close-knit group of friends was formed—little did we know, something even more special was starting between the two of us. Not long after, our first date happened completely by accident. We had planned a casual dinner with our friend group, but one by one, they all bailed last minute. Instead of calling it off, we decided to go anyway, just the two of us—and, as it turned out, it was the best twist of fate we could have asked for.
