From a chance meeting to forever—our story has always felt a little like fate. We first met at a mutual friend’s wedding in 2019. One dance and one kiss later, we both knew something special had begun. Even as life pulled us in different directions, that connection never faded. Five years later, living on opposite sides of the country, we finally had our first official date when Kelsee flew from Oregon to Florida. Over margaritas and tacos at a charming local restaurant, we picked up effortlessly where we had left off. That weekend unfolded with beach days, a trip to Disney, and the kind of conversations that make you realize how much you truly have in common. It became clear that we didn't just love many of the same things- we loved experiencing them together. Soon after, Kelsee moved to Washington, D.C. for her next travel assignment, a bonus for Cody who is a diehard Washington Capitals fan. From then on, life became a countdown to our next visit. Weekends were spent catching flights, making long drives, and holding onto every moment we could share. With our shared love for travel, we planned our first road trip exploring Philadelphia’s historic streets and trying new restaurants. It was in New York that we said our first “I love you” and realized we didn’t want to spend another weekend apart. Long distance strengthened us, but we were ready to build something lasting. Drawn to sunshine and the sea, we chose Florida as the place to begin our life side by side. Now, our weekends are spent exploring new beach towns, discovering hidden gems along the coast and falling in love with places like Rosemary Beach and the 30A area. These places have become part of our story, just like the people who have supported us along the way. On December 13, 2025, in the timeless city of St. Augustine, Cody asked Kelsee to spend forever together. Beneath the soft glow of the morning light, it was the easiest yes! We cannot wait to be surrounded by the family and friends we love most as we begin this next chapter together!
