We first met in the gym, and, like any good story, it wasn’t love at first sight—at least, not right away. Kaelyn might have seemed a little… uninterested at first (mostly because she’s adorably socially awkward and didn’t know how to show that she was actually intrigued by such a handsome and charming man—cue the Superman smoulder). And I? Well, I was annoyed that someone was hogging the squat rack for an hour… little did I know that would be the start of something incredible. From there, our story unfolded in the best kind of chaos. We did long distance for eight months, traveling across the East Coast together, helping each other and her family settle into Florida. I may have fallen first, but it didn’t take long for Kaelyn to catch up. Our adventures include a favorite trip to Oahu, Hawaii, where we soaked in breathtaking scenery, devoured way too much delicious food, and proved that life is better when we explore it together. At home, we cherish simple joys—jam sessions to country music in the summer, lazy Sundays filled with church, coffee, and a family dinner, and a new tradition we’ve made our own: hot chocolate and watching the sunrise on Christmas morning. Our engagement came full circle on the same Beach in Florida where we spent countless walks dreaming about the future and imagining our life together. Now, we’re ready for our biggest adventure yet. And we can’t wait to celebrate it with the people who have been cheering for us all along.
