What is there to do in Helen?

Answer

There is shopping, multiple putt putt courses, train ride for kids around the town, carriage rides, live music, beer gardens, restaurants and a mountain roller coaster!

Where is the most authentic German Restaurant?

Answer

This is a big debate in Helen, especially with all the German restaurants in town. We have talked to locals and the answer is hands down: Bodensee Restaurant. Cody and I go every time we are in town! We share the “ sampler platter for 2” it is a good variety if you cannot decide. They move at their own pace, so don’t be surprised if you have some waiting.

I’m not a fan of German food, is there another place that’s good to eat?

Answer

YES! Not far from the hotel, about a 2 minute drive outside of town, is a pizza place called Nacoochee Village Tavern. We get pizza and salad and haven’t had a pizza we don’t like yet! WARNING: it’s all made fresh to order and be prepared to sit for a while! So get a beer and some good company if you go!

Where are some good trails and hikes around Helen?

Answer

Cody and I favor Tallulah Gorge and Anna Ruby Falls when we visit. Tallulah Falls is where Cody and I first hike together and later the place where Cody asked me to marry him!
