Things To Do

We're so excited to share the beauty of Vermont with everyone during our special weekend. Here are a few tips of activities to do in and around the resort!
Vermont's North East Kingdom

Vermont's North East Kingdom

191 Clermont Terrace, Newport, VT 05855

Experience the NEK Welcome to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom (NEK). Local flavors, open spaces, and endless adventures await. Get NEKed VT by diving into the authentic and unexpected experiences of the Kingdom. The Northeast Kingdom represents over 2,000 square miles of Vermont and is home to some of the state’s most scenic and undisturbed locations. Bordered by Canada and northern New Hampshire, the Kingdom is a hub for outdoor recreation, arts and culture, and delicious local food options. From the mountains at Jay Peak Resort to the trails of Burke Mountain, and all the way down to bustling St. Johnsbury, there’s something to uncover around every corner of the Northeast Kingdom.

Four Corners - Swimming Hole

Four Corners - Swimming Hole

251 Vermont 101, Jay, VT 05859

FOUR CORNERS – NORTH TROY A popular local swimming hole in the Jay - Troy area – so far north it is almost in Canada! A beautiful, large oblong swimming hole approximately 30 yards in diameter. The entire pool is surrounded by a high rock ledge providing ample places to jump into the deep pool. There is rope swing on a tree perched on the top of the far ledge, so terrifying our palms get sweaty just thinking about it. The water is emerald green, the falls are nice and big and the folks mostly keep their suits on. If you are feeling brave, it is directly across the street from the Four Corners convenience store. There is a large dirt parking lot – you can't miss it.

Big Falls State Park

Big Falls State Park

1382 River Road, Troy, VT 05859

Big Falls State Park is located on the Missisquoi River, with 2400 feet of frontage on both sides of the river. The property was donated to the State of Vermont by Citizens Utilities Company in 1996. The area is popular for swimming and fishing. Quick little stop off the side of the road for some cool waterfalls.

Lake Willoughby

Lake Willoughby

Westmore, VT

Lake Willoughby may just be one of Vermont's most iconic vistas! Its unique geography is a result of glacial erosion which created the beautiful 'bowl' shape we see today. Lake Willoughby offers miles of hiking trails as well as beaches and boat launches. Located just 45-minutes from Jay Peak, it is a great spot for paddle boarding or kayaking. (For those looking to minimize their potential tan lines, it is also worth noting that Lake Willoughby is also home to one of Vermont’s only nude beaches. Bring extra sunscreen!) Cody recommends Parker Pie Pizza after. It's a drive but worth it!

Mount Hor - Hike

Mount Hor - Hike

Sutton, VT 05867, Sutton, VT 05867

Tickets, rentals and course map/scorecard are available at the Mountain Shop on Tramside: (802) 327-2184.

Jay Peak Resort Golf Course

Jay Peak Resort Golf Course

830 Jay Peak Road, Jay, VT 05859

At Jay Peak, the phrase “down to earth” means more than the friendly, casual attitude found in everyone who works at the course. It’s actually about the earth. It’s in the beautiful terrain, the natural waterways, and the manicured greens. It’s the Northern Vermont woods and the wildlife that watches from within. It’s the little details and big ideas implemented by course designer Graham Cooke. At Jay Peak, your game is enhanced by all of this, whether you’re a PGA pro or a first-time hack.
