FOUR CORNERS – NORTH TROY A popular local swimming hole in the Jay - Troy area – so far north it is almost in Canada! A beautiful, large oblong swimming hole approximately 30 yards in diameter. The entire pool is surrounded by a high rock ledge providing ample places to jump into the deep pool. There is rope swing on a tree perched on the top of the far ledge, so terrifying our palms get sweaty just thinking about it. The water is emerald green, the falls are nice and big and the folks mostly keep their suits on. If you are feeling brave, it is directly across the street from the Four Corners convenience store. There is a large dirt parking lot – you can't miss it.
Big Falls State Park is located on the Missisquoi River, with 2400 feet of frontage on both sides of the river. The property was donated to the State of Vermont by Citizens Utilities Company in 1996. The area is popular for swimming and fishing. Quick little stop off the side of the road for some cool waterfalls.
Lake Willoughby may just be one of Vermont's most iconic vistas! Its unique geography is a result of glacial erosion which created the beautiful 'bowl' shape we see today. Lake Willoughby offers miles of hiking trails as well as beaches and boat launches. Located just 45-minutes from Jay Peak, it is a great spot for paddle boarding or kayaking. (For those looking to minimize their potential tan lines, it is also worth noting that Lake Willoughby is also home to one of Vermont’s only nude beaches. Bring extra sunscreen!) Cody recommends Parker Pie Pizza after. It's a drive but worth it!
Straight From the Land to Your Glass Brian and Jenn Cook created Kingdom Brewing with the intent to brew authentic craft beers from a wide variety of locally produced ingredients. Starting with American grown grains, they combine farm chemistry and heirloom recipes with ingredients from their farm & greenhouse such as maple sap, spruce tips and berries to create a variety of light to robust seasonal beers.
A outdoor activity we both enjoyed back home in New England before even meeting each other. We also try to play when they can back in Florida. It is an affordable outdoor activity, so bring your discs if you have them. We may play a round on Sunday! Built in the summer of 2017, the design includes sweeping panoramic views, elevation change, wooded and open holes, water hazards, and some interesting features that only Jay Peak can provide. Tickets, rentals and course map/scorecard are available at the Mountain Shop on Tramside: (802) 327-2184.
Welcome to the Pump House - the only indoor waterpark in Vermont, where you'll be protected from all the elements northern Vermont is known for precipitating. The Pump House is open every weekend through the fall. Waterpark features and attractions may open or close based on weather, staffing, and/or business levels without advanced notice. Please read on for details. If you stay at the resort, depending on where you book it may be included in your room. It can also be added to condo stays as well.
At Jay Peak, the phrase “down to earth” means more than the friendly, casual attitude found in everyone who works at the course. It’s actually about the earth. It’s in the beautiful terrain, the natural waterways, and the manicured greens. It’s the Northern Vermont woods and the wildlife that watches from within. It’s the little details and big ideas implemented by course designer Graham Cooke. At Jay Peak, your game is enhanced by all of this, whether you’re a PGA pro or a first-time hack.
