While children are welcome at the church ceremony, the reception will be adults-only. We hope this gives parents the opportunity to relax, let loose, and enjoy a night of celebration. Nannies will be available if needed, please let us know if you’re interested.
The "Pueblo Mágico", San Miguel de Allende (SMA) is known for being exceptionally safe and welcoming. SMA is completely walkable and especially magical at night, when the cobblestone streets, historic churches, and colonial buildings glow under beautiful lights in the pedestrian-friendly city center. That said, just like anywhere else use common sense and don’t be dumb.
Mountain weather can be unpredictable, so we suggest bringing a light rain jacket or small umbrella. The town is very walkable, with charming cobblestone streets. Comfortable shoes are essential for exploring. Sunscreen is a must, as the mountain sun is strong, and please note we’ll be celebrating at an elevation of over 6,000 feet.
Walking! The city is extremely walkable and safe at night. Uber. Uber in SMA works great and there's no need to exchange cash. Car However, we don't recommend renting a car (unless you're traveling out of the city) as parking can be tricky and limited.
We usually withdraw pesos from an airport ATM when we arrive. There’s no need to bring large amounts of cash, as most places accept U.S. credit cards and ATMs are easy to find around town. Smaller bills are handy for tips, artisan markets, and quick purchases.
