We met sometime in 2019 in our Young Single Adult ward (church congregation). While we knew of each other, we never really talked. One summer night, Catalina put together a foosball activity for the ward and Cody came up to Catalina and talked to her. He made a mental note to ask her out, but Catalina started going to a different ward around this time. They started messaging on a church dating app in January 2020 for a short time. COVID hit a couple of months later, which meant church meetings were now at home for the foreseeable future. It wasn't until Cody saw a message from Catalina on the dating app in August 2020 that they started talking through the app. Cody took the opportunity to ask her out and the rest is history:)

We dressed up, and Cody took me to a fancy steakhouse called Del Frisco's on Friday, August 27th, 2021. The food was beyond delicious. We tried crab cakes, creamed corn, butter cake, and of course delicious steaks. We were so stuffed afterwards, we could barely talk. Cody took me to Cornerstone Park, where there is a pond with ducks. We walked around a bit then headed back to the car. After driving around a bit, Cody parked at the Italian restaurant we had our first date over a year ago, Ventano's. From that restaurant, you can overlook the entire valley of Las Vegas. While sitting in the car, he took out the ring box and asked me to marry him!
