Blythe and Cody met when she was 13 years old and he was 16 years old backstage during The Wizard of Oz. During the Fall 2006 production of Lockdown at Blind Brook High School, Cody and Blythe became fast friends (with the typical ups and downs of an angsty HS friendship). Thirteen years of friendship later (Two years overlapping at BBHS, Two years overlapping at Muhlenberg, countless nights spent in the BBHS theater and at Titans and Mules hockey games, and car rides around Rye Brook and Allentown) Blythe and Cody evolved from good friends to great friends to boyfriend and girlfriend.

Thirteen months after making their relationship official, it didn't take much convincing to get Blythe to join Cody on a walk at Rye Playland's boardwalk on one freezing cold May 9th. Despite having talked together about their future at that very spot, Cody caught Blythe off guard with a surprise proposal by the large chairs on the boardwalk. The proposal was followed by video chats with family and friends (in COVID fashion), lots of champagne, and of course a Carvel ice cream cake.
