Amy and Cody’s love story began at a birthday party, shortly after Cody had just moved to Virginia from Georgia. At that party, Cody was actually too nervous to talk to Amy at all, even though he did end up dancing and making everyone laugh thanks to her Uncle Rodney getting everyone on the dance floor. By the end of the night, he’d spoken to her parents but hadn’t worked up the courage to say hello to her just yet. A couple of days later, Cody reached out and invited Amy to meet up on the lake. They spent the day floating and talking about how Cody had recently moved to Virginia and all the little connections they never realized they had. They soon discovered they’d crossed paths at his grandfather's 4th of July parties as kids. After a few wonderful months of dating, Cody was deployed for a year, and despite the distance, their bond only grew stronger. Now here they are, ready to get married and celebrate the journey that began with that first dance he was almost too shy to start.
