Alexandra grew up in North Carolina and found her love for the outdoors early on, which eventually led her into a career in Recreation and Park Management. That passion took her on a wild adventure to Huron, South Dakota where she found herself running a waterpark of all things. Meanwhile, Cody was busy being the most dependable South Dakotan you’ll ever meet, with a degree in cybersecurity and a deep passion for doing everything by the book. If there’s a rule to follow, Cody’s already read the manual twice. Their paths crossed on June 22nd, 2021 thanks to Hinge. For their first date they met at Tinners. Alexandra was so nervous she could barely eat and completely forgot her box of leftovers on the table. That lunch turned into hours of driving around Sioux Falls, swapping songs and stories. Though Cody will never fully admit it, a lot of his current favorite artists were introduced to him by Alexandra in those early days. They braved two years of “long-ish” distance, making the two-hour drive between towns feel like just a quick trip. When Alexandra finally moved to Sioux Falls, everything fell perfectly into place. They found careers they loved in finance and IT security, brought home their beloved dog Gus, and settled into their dream house together. On May 16th, 2025 Cody brought Alexandra up to his family’s resort on Rush Lake in Minnesota. It’s a place that holds a special spot in the Christianson family’s heart, which made it the perfect spot for Cody to get down on one knee. Alexandra said yes right away, but not before letting Cody know he wasn’t even in the frame of the video he had so carefully set up. Now they’re counting down the days until June 27th, 2026 when they’ll say “I do” surrounded by family and friends in Sioux Falls. They can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter together with all of you.
