How We Met

5-16-2012

Cody and I met in high school. He was the annoying boy that I could not stand. I was the girl he picked on. We became good friends and he would walk me to my classes. The summer going into my senior year, his junior year we decided it was time to take our relationship to the next level. We dated until his junior year of college. We both were at different stages of life and needed time to grow and find ourselves. Fast forward to January 2018 when we decided to give the relationship another try. I will forever be grateful for the year we spent apart. We were able to grow as individuals and realize what we had was something special. My mom always told me, "If it is meant to be, you will find your way back to each other." That is exactly what we did.

Proposal

7-4-19

July 4th, 2019 is a day we will never forget. We planned for our Kentucky friends to come down for the weekend and spend it on the lake. Thursday evening we all arrived at the lake house and took the boat out to watch fireworks. We parked our boat by the dam and waited for the fireworks to start. As the show started, we were all dancing and having the time of our lives. Cody started playing our song (Livin' Our Love Song) and asked me to dance. (this was not unusual as we dance all the time especially in the kitchen) He got down on one knee. With total shock and surprise we were now an engaged couple. We can truly say we have found our forever person. Our relationship has not been perfect and has been full of ups and downs. However, we have grown in our relationship and we can not wait to say "I DO."
